The best of Scandinavia '97

Article Abstract:

The Dagbladet newspaper of Oslo, Norway, won the Gold Award for Redesign in the 1997 Best Newspaper Pages competition for Scandinavian newspapers. Most prizes were won by Norwegian newspapers, although Sweden submitted the most entries. The Gold Award for Feature Pages was won by Ostgota Correspondenten of Sweden. Competition participants included one newspaper from Iceland, 14 from Finland, 15 from Denmark, 19 from Norway and 20 from Sweden, with all the newspapers submitting a total of 965 entries. Twenty awards went to 11 Norwegian newspapers and 17 awards to eight Swedish newspapers.

Article Abstract:

The redesigned version of Star Tribune's food section, Taste, which was aimed at broadening the concept of food pages to potentially attract all readers including the cooks, is discussed. Taste received many awards for its redesign including the James Beard Foundation honor in 2003 as best food sections of the biggies in circulation.
