Stratford Hall was the home of the illustrious Lee family of Virginia and the birthplace of several statesmen and war heroes, including Gen. Robert E. Lee. Standing on 1,443 acres of land, it is considered a prime example of American architecture, with its H-shaped plan, decorative brickwork and dual chimney clusters.

The Andrew Johnson homestead

Andrew Johnson's homes on College and Main Streets in Greeneville, TN, showcase how the late president was a man of the people. His homes also serve as a monument to his rise as a local son of Tennessee. Johnson was a simple tailor's apprentice when he first came to Greeneville in 1826.
