Article Abstract:
Betsy Williams and Melissa Harris of the University of Michigan's College of Architecture and Urban Planning organized graduate and undergraduate students in creating an exhibition design for the international conference 'Shelter, Women, and Development: First and Third World Perspectives.' An inside/outside concept was adapted for the 3,600-sq ft university gallery. The central exhibition structure was in birch veneer and created three perimeter walls for the photographs, collages and murals. The fiberboard and stud interior was left unfinished and served as a display board.
