Southern elegance at the Benjamin Phillips House

Article Abstract:

Renovation work has restored the charm and elegance of the circa 1818 Benjamin Phillips House in Charleston, South Carolina. The work was divided among John Laurens III of Preservation Consultants, Cozy Pelzer of Carol Pelzer Interiors and landscapers Hugh and Mary Dargan of Hugh Dargan Associates.

Castle on the hill

Article Abstract:

Castle Hill was built in the early 1900s by the American plumbing magnate Richard Crane for his family. The Great House was designed by architect David Adler who specialized in builiding grand homes for the wealthy. The house is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.

Colonial Dames' heritage houses

Article Abstract:

The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America has worked towards the preservation of records, artifacts and houses dating from the US colonial period. It maintains the 1799 Dumbarton House in Washington, D.C. as a museum and headquarters.
