The design of Stamford Hospital's Carl and Dorothy Bennett Cancer Center revolved around a central garden atrium which defined a light-filled circular pattern for the offices, laboratories and patients' rooms. The garden was located under a two-story glass roof with lush canopy to shield room interiors. The garden is furnished with natural fieldstone and teakwood benches. The hospital achieves a transparent integration with the rest of the center because glass is the main barrier.

Rita St Clair Assoc was contracted to render the interior design for American Radiology Services' imaging center. The building features a double-loaded racetrack office model and a series of bright-curtained booths. The waiting areas are separated by low walls into seating clusters lit by incandescent ceiling fixtures. Melamine-coated wood veneer was chosen for the millwork. The oversized reception desk features cherry and bird's eye maple veneer finishing.
