Ancient Greek and Roman cultures' influence on Western architecture and interior design are quite discernible. These cultures have left their influence on buildings, ornamentals and furniture design. These ancient arts have resurrected and unabatedly influenced designers and architects today.

Classic style inspires a new kitchen

Jim Charles of Heritage Custom Kitchens found inspiration from the du Pont Dining Room at the Winterthur Museum in Wilmington, DE, in designing kitchen space for a client in Chicago, IL. Heritage adopted paneling styles from several period rooms in its new line of cabinets and millwork.

A designer transforms a 1917 kitchen

Interior designer John Buscarello renovated the kitchen of Villa Lewaro by demolishing the viewless walk-out basement room. The villa was built in 1917 by Madame C.J. Walker who became a millionaire by selling hair-care products.
