More tabloid than high minded

Article Abstract:

The line that distinguishes hard news from soft news is getting blurrier as supposedly political stories contain elements of tabloid journalism and vice-versa. As such, packaging the news is getting trickier as words and pictures have to be balanced carefully to reflect what is substantial and sensational. Thus, design editors have to grapple everyday with making the right decisions concerning the use of pictures, graphics and statistics without compromising visual standards.
