Jordan Mozer and Assoc's design of the Tempest, a restaurant in Houston, TX, features an innovative lighting fixture that presents a windblown appearance. The lighting fixture design consists of ceiling-hung copper cauldron-shaped bowls with tentacle-like glass spikes emanating from holes in the bowls. These fixtures directed the attention away from the ceiling-mounted light stem conduits and focused it instead to the acid-etched tentacles where light glowed. The result is an appealing, cost-effective and original lighting system.
