Article Abstract:
Typographer Jim Parkinson's work is mainly concerned with designing custom fonts for prototypes and logos. Parkinson considers himself nascent in digital font business. His numerous assignments include those from the Newsweek, the San Francisco Examiner and The New York Times Magazine. He has also worked with Hallmark Cards and Rolling Stones. The AGFA Creative Alliance typeface collection features two of his designs and three more will be published by FontShop International. He discusses his experience with redesigning the prototype for The San Francisco Chronicle.

Newspapers are trying to establish a new readership base by designing specialsections for children. Editors of these special sections have been enthusiasticin their new responsibilities. These special sections for children have emphasized design to capture the interest of a visually sophisticated audience.Color, short features and news articles, interesting logos, large type and openspaces are some of the elements used in these special sections. Some examples of children's sections are presented.

Article Abstract:
The newspaper 'The Telegraph' which was founded by Aveek Sarkar in 1982 in Calcutta, India, shows the difference of India from other countries. This was indicated when its editor-in-chief invited a newspaper design consultant to help improve the appearance of the newspaper which has become obsolete and irrelevant to the signs of the times. Despite the difficulty, the consultant provided the journalists with flexible designs that would fit the situation in India.
