A nontraditional team-based environment characterizes the offices of Coregis Corp. as designed by Chicago, IL-based VOA Assoc. The design firm's approach was spurred by the new forward-looking, team approach of the company after its reorganization. Thus, VOA chose a versatile workstyle with spaces conducive for both team interaction and the more conventional office usage. The reception area is the showcase of the new corporate spirit, with its 1950s or 1960s retro design achieving a classical look.

The International Design Group has designed a dream store for would-be vintners with the first Bottle Your Own of the Liquor Control Board of Ontario in Toronto, Canada. Large bright signs and distinctive palettes of colors and materials are appropriate for the self-service environment, as they make it easier for customers to find their way around the 5,000-sq ft customer area. The store retains its warehouse aura for shoppers to have a sense of acquiring good products at warehouse prices.

Adam Tihany focused on ancient Greek in creating a theme for the upscale Manhattan restaurant Artos. However, Tihany reinterpreted the theme in traditional materials to fit the modern times and to avoid cliches. The result was rich in color, sensuous and evocative of the Mediterranean. Everything, from the floor's mosaic design to the lamps and the bar rails, contributes to the sense of the gentle movement of the sea.
