Article Abstract:
Architect Hugh Newell Jacobsen simplified the forms used in designing a home on the shore of the Outer Banks, NC. The house has been divided into smaller white gabled pavilions which retain a wide view of the surrounding scenery. The owner specified that the old oak trees should be unharmed, and the architect used concrete piles to support the house without causing destruction on the oaks and the dunes.
