A historic 18th-century saltbox in Fairfield County, CT, that has been remodelled into a family home is described. The changes made by contractor Bill Norton included the expansion of the master bedroom, the addition of a bedroom, and renovations of the kitchen and bathrooms.

Architects Carol Nelson and Harry de Polo are determined not to change the 250-year-old Cornwall, CT, farmhouse in which they live. Nelson was careful to upgrade the house with little disturbance to its antique clapboard, doors, windows and hardware.
