Article Abstract:
Jack Travis, the architect from New York, is designing the temporary showroom for Spike Lee's fashion company like a construction site using materials typical to a construction site. Offices, closets and ramp area will be enclosed with scaffolding fence and sliding doors will be made of plywood. Poles will be fixed to hold the canvas panels and scaffolding coupler rings will join the five rows of poles fixed in horizontal and vertical direction. The design resembling a construction site will be made complete with a chain link fence, painted in red, green and black, constructed around the showroom.

The American Council for the Arts (ACA) launched the organization's Pfister Fund through a gala dinner at the '21' restaurant. The affair, which raised $370,000 dollars for the Pfister Fund was attended by prominent personalities in the design industry including Interiors magazine editor Paula Rice Jackson and '21' International Holdings CEO and Pfister Fund vice Chmn Marshall S. Cogan.

New York City's Designer's Saturday will postpone the scheduled 1993 event in order to have time to evolve a new Designer's Saturday format which will debut in 1994. The new Designer's Saturday event will be finalized by May 1993 and will be publicized by then.
