Article Abstract:
The Brandon Plantation house in Jamestown, VA was originally built in the 17th century as two houses separated by an empty space. In the 18th century, Benjamin Harrison built a brick manor house 210 feet long to connect the two houses. The property is now owned by former Congressman Robert W. Daniel, Jr.

Clipper ships were popular during the latter half of the 1800s, from 1850 to 1854. Described by a historian as the 'noblest of all sailing vessels', the ships were built due to the exodus of New England families to California during the gold rush of 1848.

An Anglican church in Shobdon, Herefordshire, UK, was restored in 1756, possibly by the architect Richard Bentley. The style of the restored church is Strawberry Hill Gothic and the interior color scheme is white and blue.
