Article Abstract:
The Pegasus Suites at the Rockefeller Center in New York, NY, feature an interior design that combines glamour, craftsmanship and functionality. The suites, which will be used for business and social functions, echo the design elements of artists'works in other parts of the center without sacrificing their own distinctive character. Hardy Holzman Pfeiffer Assoc decorated the walls and ceilings with abstract mural paintings of geometric Art Deco patterns and used stepped, gold scalloped and etched glass panels for accent. Utility systems were carefully planned to enhance the elegant atmosphere of the suites.

Examples of interior design projects that demonstrate use of Golden Mean geometry are featured in the Harmony by Design: The Golden Mean exhibition at the Chicago, IL, Merchandise Mart until Aug 1, 1993. The Golden Mean is a a geometric formula used to create measurements that related to the human form and has become synonymous with the term 'moderation.' The exhibition was sponsored by Interiors magazine and includes examples of furniture, textiles and computer-generated drawings.

Article Abstract:
The Tishman Realty and Construction Co. have started on a new project in Warsaw, Poland, after completing the construction of the 1,200-room Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers. The project is a partnership between Tishman company and Warimpex, an Austrian firm, who have built many hotels in Prague and Poland. The seven-floor, low-rise building has consideration for the design perspective of the nearby buildings and an E-shape configuration which affords a view of a nearly park.
