Article Abstract:

Churches and synagogues keep extensive records of births, deaths, burials, and annual reports. They also have clippings, publications, event programs and genealogical charts. Hence, they are the best source of information to research about one's ancestors or colonial America, in general.

The lure of the West

Article Abstract:

The strong pull of the West to America's first settlers inspired many expeditions by ship, wagon, stagecoach and rail during the 1800s. The Pony Express was born in 1860 after Westerners began to demand for news from the East Coast. More than 400 Pony Express riders existed at one time.
