Documenting two Georgian houses in Annapolis

Article Abstract:

The historic Hammond-Harwood House-Museum and the Upton Scott House are two of Annapolis, MD's fine examples of Georgian architecture. The former is a five-part structure designed in 1773 for lawyer Mathias Hammond, while the latter was built in the early 1760s for the governor's personal physician.

The Exchange: nestled on eight acres, a gracious Georgian manor edges the bank of Virginia's North River

Article Abstract:

The Exchange is an early 18th century Virginia manor with Georgian details. Built and owned by William Buckner, it was bought and restored by realtors Gordon and Mary Stewart. Its name came from Buckner's descendant Thomas, who traded it with an in-law for a larger house.

Article Abstract:
