Article Abstract:

Horizon Industries Inc's Harbinger division introduced Cobblestone, a new textured carpet line which combined dyed yarn and textiles. The innovative design explored different dyed yarn color combinations which work well a wide variety of textiles. It also included a new cabling process specially developedfor the new product. Harbinger plans to develop other carpeting design innovations which will enable designers to try out other possible material and color schemes.

For F.S. Contract's new line, Kristie Straten reinterprets archival materials

Article Abstract:

Schumacher's contract division F.S. Contract has signed a royalty agreement with the Art Institute of Chicago. The agreement is on the creation of a line of upholstery fabrics based on the Institute's collection. Kirsten Strasen, textile designer and consultant, headed the project which resulted in 15 designs suitable for residential and office interiors. These are now available in a variety of materials with price ranging from $20 to $60 per yard.
