Caesars Palace Tower

Article Abstract:

The Caesars Palace Tower in Las Vegas, NV, is a classic example of architectural integrity, sophistication and style. Interior design firm Wilson and Assoc successfully created an edifice that serves as a giant billboard to the casino at the same time that it relates to the guests at the swimming pool to meet Las Vegas's unique architectural challenge. Wilson and Assoc used tones of beige, blue and gold to match the hotel's ubiquitous marble finishes as well as the natural landscape. The Caesars Palace Tower opened in Dec 1997.

By George

Article Abstract:

Former Pres George Washington's mansion at Mount Vernon boasts of a brilliant interior design conceptualized by Washington himself. Washington, who inherited Mount Vernon in 1761, designed the large dining room of the mansion, paying special attention to symmetry, scale and complexity of decoration. The domesticity and comfort projected by Mount Vernon were a testament to Washington's creativity as a designer, and this aura has remained until after his time.

Grand illusion

Article Abstract:

An art critic denounces the stubborn historicism evident in William Sofield's design of New York's SoHo Grand Hotel. Although the art district where the hotel is located was a technological triumph of the mid-19th century, the aesthetic aspirations of its architects have not been successfully replicated at the Grand. The photographs adorning the walls of the rooms were intended to emphasize the motif of old New York, but are undeniably contemporary.
