Article Abstract:
Mid-century modern furniture are increasingly becoming popular with museums and collectors as these have become classic pieces that have acquired the patina of age. Once thought to be ahead of mass appeal and current technology, their authentic copies, prototypes and early examples have become sought after. The market for these classics of modern furniture is driven by the short supply of pieces coupled with steadily increasing demand among specialized dealers and major auction houses. Among furniture designers whose mid-century modern pieces are in great demand are Charles Eames, Greta Grossman and Luther Conover.
