Article Abstract:

Preservationists have been actively pursuing the restoration of a number of 20th-century Modern architecture structures despite criticism from more traditional preservationists. The Solomon Guggenheim Museum in New York, NY is the biggest restoration work ever done for 20th-century preservationists. Likewise, the Rainbow Room supper club in the RCA building has undergone restoration work based on photographs of the original interiors. Similarly, theGropius House, a museum in Lincoln, MA, has undergone restoration under the direction of the Society for the Preservation of New England Antiquities.
