Article Abstract:
The Egyptian Theater has been remodeled and brilliantly restored to its former glory with new construction. The major challenges for principal architects Ming Fung and Craig Hodgetts of Hodgetts and Fung Design Assoc were stabilizing the building which suffered from an earthquake in 1994, installing two modern auditoriums and recreating the artificial stone. The budget for the remodeling work, which took 15 months to finish, was $14 million

Interiors magazine celebrates its 55th anniversary with the printing of its November 1995 issue. Looking back on November 1945, the theme in that issue was that of expectancy following the end of World War II. People were generally enthusiastic over the practical applications of various wartime inventions. However, they were hesitant over the use of atomic power after witnessing its destructive power in Nagasaki, Japan.

San Francisco, California's new Main Public Library received the Best Library award from Interiors magazine. The 381,00-sq.-ft. building was designed by Pei Cobb Freed and Partners. Media production facilities, meeting rooms, an auditorium and a coffee bar can be made available when the library is closed. The library cost around $240 per sq. ft. to construct.
