A traditional thanksgiving at Virginia's historic Half Way House

Article Abstract:

Rick and Sue Young discovered the historic restaurant in the 1980s and decided to add American history as an avocation in addition to their love of model planes and gliders. There is only one minor change to the restaurant built in 1760 and that is the back porch which serves as the main entrance.

Oh, you beautiful doll ... house

Article Abstract:

William Whiting is known for his superbly-crafted, museum-style doll-houses. He also makes the furnishings for his creations out of ordinary household items. Old silk neckties, for instance, are used as upholstery for miniature chairs while old glass eyedroppers are made into chandeliers.

Federal town house adaptation

Article Abstract:

An 18th century house in Virginia is presented as a history house plan adaptation model. The three-floored, three-bedroom brick house served as a home for the late Supreme Court Justice Hugo Black. Other features nclude a raised-hearth place and a roomy kitchen with a breakfast bar.
