Article Abstract:
Judging for the Best of Newspaper Design Creative Competition in Syracuse, New York, is not as glamorous and easy. There were many things to consider including the prohibitions set by the association such as the ban to judge any entry in which one was involved in the past 10 months. The judges had to be more generous in rating the entries because of the limited number of awards available. Various suggestions were also received during the contest such as placing all American entries in another category since European newspapers have more limited resources.
