Article Abstract:

Greenwood began decorating furniture and accessories after finding it hard to find affordable 18th- and 19th-century decors for her new Florida home. Although Greenwood has never been educated in the arts, she was able to transform her home into a lovely Colonial house that is filled with period pieces, all of which she carefully crafted herself.

Masterworks: a visit to the tin man

Article Abstract:

Stephen Malaney started making tin lighting fixtures when he cannot find any to his liking for the Federal-era stone house he was restoring. He would later close his restaurant to concentrate on being a full-time tinsmith, using the same tools and techniques used by Colonial craftsmen 200 years ago.

A man's home is his castle

Article Abstract:

Hammond Castle was the home and working laboratory of John Hays Hammond Jr., an inventor of the remote control and over 400 other patents. Now a museum, the castle is a showcase of the ecclesiastical style of Gothic architecture and houses a vast collection of Medieval arts and artifacts.
