Article Abstract:

The work of Henry N Michael, a dendrochronology who has helped unite the sciences of radiocarbon dating and dendrochronology, is discussed. The study of the rings in wooden beams confirmed the age of the pyramids and the discrepancies with the dates in Egyptian dynastic records revealed the problems with radiocarbon dating.

Article Abstract:

The approach adopted by Stuart Fleming, director of the University of Pennsylvania's Museum Applied Science Center for Archaeology, to read the human past hidden within the simplest objects are discussed. It reveals that Fleming's work involved showing scientists, to analyze well-prepared laboratory specimens and to deal with ancient objects, and he was well versed with a geological technique to archaeology called thermoluminescence (TL) that could date ceramic objects.
