Article Abstract:
A short-lived settlement founded in Maine in 1607 that could have changed the course of American history is presented. A few Englishmen landed on Kennebec River on Maine's coast and started the Popham Colony the first attempt to a New England settlement that did not last and came to an end in the fall of 1608.
