Article Abstract:
Almost 300 steamboats drifted on the Yukon river and its tributaries during the 1890s to the 1950s and were especially useful to the area during the gold rush era. Research scientists John Pollack and Robyn Woodward are heading a multiyear research project on steamboat wrecks to gather information on the mechanical features and construction of steamboats that once plied the Yukon river.
