The Asclepeium, a curing center and spa enjoying popularity with the Greeks and Romans, is described. The Asclepeium was known for its physician-priests whose belief in the mind-body connection encouraged a belief in physical cures and also in spontaneous ones brought about by god-inspired dreams.

The ruin of Sagalassos in the Southern Turkey, where huge nymphaeum or fountain was rebuilt is discussed. The origin and the history of Sagalossos that was destroyed by an earthquake around the middle of the seventeenth century A.D are presented.
