Article Abstract:
Light detection and ranging (LIDAR) can be used measure distance and generate 3-D digital maps as demonstrated by the survey of the steamboat Evelyn. LIDAR can be used in tandem with conventional digital photos and AutoCAD to create even more realistic images.

The use of new imaging technology to study the Antikythera mechanism of a bronze geared device is discussed. The device is an ancient mechanical analog computer.
