Article Abstract:

The objects traded, carried or manufactured along the Silk Road route were displayed on the exhibition, Monks and Merchants: Silk Road Treasures from Northwest China, Gansu and Ningxia. The details of the artifacts, which were displayed in the exhibition, are presented.

The virtual silk road

A description is given of the interactive web data base launched by the International Dunhuang Project(IDP), posting records and digitized manuscripts in the ten major languages of the Silk Road. The IDP was sponsored by the British Museum.
