Finding the original home of the museum's Brahma

Article Abstract:

Penn's Museum's Brahma sculpture, presently on display at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, USA, is known primarily for the inscription on its base identifying its maker and noting his connection to the Mallikarjuna temple built by his architect father at Kuruvatti in the modern state of Karnataka, India. A study is conducted to find out if the Brahma sculpture really belonged to the Mallikarjuna temple, as presumed by the scholars.
