Scholars are attempting to locate the geological location of Armageddon, a term translated by most scholars to mean the Mound of Megiddo. Over time, the term Armageddon came to denote only a biblical concept, obscuring its origins until a recent archeological expedition rediscovered the historic site that may have inspired the biblical reference, at Tel Magiddo.
