Article Abstract:
Reuben Grima joined Malta's museum department in 1992, a year after receiving his degree, was appointed site curator of the Hypogeum and is part of a core group, a young archaeologist specializing in conservation and management of the Megalithic Temples of Malta. The orientation of the Maltese megaliths reflects a desire for both ancestral security and for power as symbolized by exotic goods.

A research conducted by Salim Ikram on the Animal Mummy Project, a cooperative undertaking between the Egyptian Museum and the American University in Cairo is discussed. She also moves ahead with the conservation of the animal mummies into the next phase of the project, reinstalling the collections in the museum.

Research is presented on the identification of a Egyptian mummy thought to be the pharaoh Rameses I at Emory University. Topics include the resemblance of the mummy to 19th Dynasty pharaoh Seti I, DNA analysis of mummies, and the discovery and transportation of the mummy from Egypt in the early 20th century.
