Article Abstract:

Some of the memories of 67-year-old Chinese archaeologist Yu Weichao, whose lifetime spanned so much of China's turbulent history, are described. Yu discovered a Shang Dynasty palace and a capital city of the Western Zhou Dynasty (ca. 1100-771 BC). In the Western world Yu is most famous for heading the team in charge of selecting the most important sites to excavate before construction of the Yangtze River dam.

The discovery of a tomb beneath the main altar of the second largest basilica of Rome, which probably holds the remains of St. Paul, is discussed. St. Paul was a first century Christian martyr.
