PrimeSource Corp. to acquire Bell Industries division

Article Abstract:

PrimeSource Corp. of Pennsauken, NJ, has signed a letter of intent to acquire Bell Industries Inc.'s operating assets. The deal, in which terms were not disclosed, is expected to be completed by September 1998. The Bell Industries division that is a distributor of graphics and electronic imaging supplies and equipment to the printing and publishing industries in the upper Midwest, Southwest and Western US. PrimeSource President and CEO James F. Mullan said the deal would strengthen the company's presence in the West Coast and the Midwest, and it would also give PrimeSource new locations in Sacramento and San Diego, CA; Las Vegas, NV; Phoenix, AZ; and Denver, CO. PrimeSource is a national distributor and systems integrator, with 27 distribution centers in the US.

Barton & Cooney, LLC and Information Handling Associates, Inc. unite

Barton & Cooney LLC pres Patrick M Doyle has announced his firm's merger with Information Handling Associates Inc, a computer/document output service firm. Barton & Cooney has made a name for itself as the most renowned and professional lettershop in the New Jersey area. It also offers high volume mail presort or commingle services which result in postal discounts for its clients. Doyle believes that the merger will provide an integrated one-stop shopping service for their customers.

Long-established printers merge their businesses

Article Abstract:

Fairmount Printing House and National Compu-Graphix Inc, two of the oldest printing firms in Bensalem, PA, have united their operations. The combined company, which will be headed by National Compu-Graphix founder CEO Don Weiner and COO Steve Rubin, will have six sheetfed presses and five web presses as well as a state-of-the-art prepress unit that offers inhouse color proofing and imaging services.
