Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc and others were named in a lawsuit filed in US District Court in Philadelphia, PA, for using a design from Don Troiani's 'Minute/Men' painting in the movie The Patriot. According to the lawsuit, Troiani was paid nothing by the producers of the movie for showing every detail of his copyrighted painting. Troiani's lawyers are asking for a court order that will give the artist/historian screen credit and a payment that could be more than $100,000.

Only around half of the population of Delaware County, PA, is supplied with fluoridated water. This finding may be significant in light of recentreports linking an increased risk of tooth decay among US children to consumption of bottled drinking water. The Philadelphia Suburban Water Co., the water utility for the region, has a long-standing policy of taking first the consent of a municipality before fluoridating that municipality's water supply.

Ringold Jewelers Inc, based in Philadelphia, PA, has been issued with a cease-and-desist order by the Pennsylvania Securities Commission for advertising on the Internet the sale of unregistered securities in the state. Ringold's advertisement on BlackBean Communications Ltd's Website does not contain the proper and necessary disclosures and it would violate the 1972 Securities Act if it continues.
