Philadelphia Newspapers Inc. (PNI) has reached a settlement over a trademark suit it filed against Camden Courier-Post's publisher Gannett Satellite Information Network Inc. PNI launched an advertising campaign using the TriClassifieds name, which was later copied by Courier-Post in its own advertising campaign, including the style, logo and layout used in PNI's TriClassifieds ads. In the settlement, the Courier-Post agreed to stop using the logo similar to the TriClassifieds mark of PNI. Gannett will also yield to PNI's application for registration of its TriClassified mark with the US Patent and Trademark Office. PNI is the publisher of the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News, and phillynews.com.

The areas to be covered include Main Line areas such as Bala Cynwyd, Merion Station, Wynnewood, Narbeth, Gladwyne and Ardmore. ProMedia is also the the publisher of a number of newspapers that include 'Northeast Times,' 'Bucks County Midweek' and 'Montgomery Country Midweek.'
