Disagreement over logo for Republican National Campaign

Article Abstract:

Several Philadelphia, PA-based communications companies bid for the creation of a logo for the Republican and National Convention for 2000. Ardmore, PA-based Backe Group was primed for the job after winning the bid selection, making the logo and preparing materials that had the proposed seal. However, its effort was dropped in favor of Rev Group of Malvern, PA. Backe did not want to sign a release that would allow the Philadelphia 2000 group to control use of the logo.

Newspaper rental ads re: children not wanted brings $160,000 fine

The Journal Register Co lost a case involving newspaper advertising for rental housing that discriminated against tenants with children. The Fair Housing Council of Suburban Philadelphia filed the $160,000 lawsuit vs the publisher, which owns newspapers that are distributed throughout Delaware Valley. The publications include The Main Line Times, The Delaware County Times, The West Chester Daily Local News and a newspaper chain under Intercounty Newspaper Group.
