I was supposed to find a marker tone in a mp3 file. I get the pcm data from libmad. But after I do the fourier transformation to the list of pcm data,I got a list of points whose x-axis is the frequency and the y-axis is the amplitude. My question is how to get the frequency for the specific marker tone? Can I use the frequency of the point which has a highest amplitude value?

Thank you
